Ear piercings are among the most common body piercings and there are many different ear piercings to choose from. Most ear piercings heal relatively quickly and they do not put a lot of stress on the immune system during healing. It is however still very important to take care of ear piercings, especially ear cartilage piercings.

The specific shape of the ear can vary quite a lot from person to person, so it is important to check that your anatomy can accommodate your desired ear piercing or jewellery. This is especially true of ear cartilage piercings and industrial piercings. A good body piercer will be able to advise you on placement but never get a piercing that you are not sure about.
